Tummy Tuck

Abdominoplasty, often referred to as a Tummy Tuck, is designed to firm and smooth the abdomen. This surgical procedure removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen and also repairs the muscle damage that most women experience from the strain of pregnancy. The result is a flatter, tighter abdomen.

This procedure is best suited for men and women who are in relatively good shape, but have loose abdominal skin and/or a significant amount of abdominal fat that won't respond to dieting or exercise.

Abdominoplasty is performed by placing a horizontal incision just within or below the pubic area. The length of the incision generally extends from hip bone to hip bone, but is largely determined on the amount of skin that needs to be removed. For women, the plastic surgeon will keep the incision within a swimsuit line whenever possible. Through this incision your surgeon can repair the underlying muscle and trim away the excess skin and fat. In some cases the skin that contains stretch marks may also be removed.
